Supatra's Story

In January2011 at the age of five Supatra was diagnosed with a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) brain stem tumour which is incurable and has a less than one year life expectancy. Supatra is the loving daughter of Jorg and Punnaporn Adler and sister to her younger brother Jason whom she loves very much. Supatra is a bright and smart girl who used to be very active and loves princesses and all things pink and frilly. Supatra is now 6 years old coping well with her symptoms that have developed from her brain tumour and as a result of the medications she must take. Supatra has undergone the only conventional medical treatment available for her condition consisting of six weeks of radiotherapy. Since radiotherapy she has been under home palliative care while we continued to search for possible other treatments and/ or clinical trials that might help her to live longer.
In June 2011, we were told of a relatively successful experimental treatment called antineoplastons that is being provided to patients such as Supatra by the Burzynski Clinic in Houston, Texas. In late August the family travelled to Houston Texas to enroll Supatra in the Phase II clinical trial at the Burzynski clinic and she is now undergoing this treatment today. Unfortunately the cost of this private treatment in the USA is expensive and we have already exhausted our life savings after only one month’s treatment. The treatment requires anywhere from 12-36 months of treatment at a case management cost of $7,600 per month, plus medical expenses in the United Kingdom.
We pray every day that Supatra will remain with us for many years to come and that the antineoplaston treatment will be successful. Thank you so much for your support.
