Awareness

We feel it is our responsibility to improve awareness of brain tumours amongst the public, government and health professionals. This awareness will increase pressure for positive changes in policy and funding for brain tumour research and support. In turn this will directly impact on the lives of the 48,000 diagnosed each year in the UK. Unfortunately brain tumours are still a forgotten disease. The facts are stark:

- The five year survival rate is currently 15%

- More children and adults under 40 in the UK die of brain cancer than any other cancer.

- Brain tumours can affect anyone, at any time, regardless of genetic background or lifestyle.

Our campaign efforts

We are always looking for opportunities to spread brain tumour awareness and to improve public understanding. In the past we have used radio and TV exposure in addition to heavy press coverage to engage with the public. These campaigns are always met with surprise at the extent of the problem we face which only encourages us to do more to spread the word...

How you can help

1. Talk to your friends and family. The message is best spread by word-of-mouth.

2. Follow the charity on facebook and twitter.

3. If you have any corporate links or are involved in community groups where you will be able to communicate with groups or clients then we would love to support you in spreading awareness

4. We are always on the look out for high flying patrons who could help boost the profile of the fight against brain tumours.

If you think you may be able to help us spread awareness then please get in contact. You can download our information about brain tumours and also about our 'Crack the Code' research project
